Horse carriages at St. Stephen´s, Vienna pencil drawings / Fiaker und ihre Pferde, Geschichte vom Stephansplatz

Gestern am Stephansplatz traf ich auf die Fiaker, wie sie bei ihren Pferden herumstanden und redeten.

Als ich anfing zu Zeichnen wurden sie neugierig und kamen herbei.

Eine Fiakerin schaute zu meinen Zeichnungen, die anderen fragten sie: "Was macht sie da? Stenografieren?" - "Ja, genau, ich schreibe alles mit was ihr da spricht! " war meine Antwort.

Einer fing an mit mir zu reden während ich versuchte sein Gesicht einzufangen, aber das Gespräch war zu kurz, deshalb wurde die Zeichnung nicht fertig - über Schokobananen, vergiftetes Essen und sauren Regen.

Ich mag den Wiener Schmäh den sie draufhaben, die Fiaker.

Swimming pool drawings

Here some drawings I made after swimming while watching the people at the pool.

While painting, drawing, reading, she is so present that she is totally submersed.

Is it presence? Is it absorption? Would she be present if she would be responsive...

STOP publicity turning women into things - WARNING: it is proved to cause aggressive behavior against WOMEN.

They mutilate women and then sell their images, so that women forever lust for an object that doesn´t even exist. There are many things about publicity that really go on my nerves, especially the way women are presented: as objects you can "buy" if you have the right products: the right perfume, the right car, the right snack. 

This is obviously a very sick view on life. It is ok if people think while watching, but I fear this is mostly not the case. 

I am for banning these commercials on TV and these big posters on the streets with naked women are not even stimulating men, I believe. It is proved that men have more and more problems with their sexuality, and women as well.

So please stop it!

The August Strindberg Sketchbook, 2004

My mother gave me this sketchbook when she came back from one of her annual trips to Sweden  to visit our family there. 

At that time I didn´t draw so much, it took me ages to fill the pages. 

Now I found it and I like those drawings. They are a bit clumsy but they mean a lot to me.

In my opinion drawings are able to capture memories and feelings better than photos.
